Shawl Weaving Artisan - Wet Processing
Scouring process on wool
Objectives : At the end of this exercise you shall be able to
• scour the wool yarn.
Requirements
Tools/equipment’s/Instruments
• Gas stove - 1 No. • Lab thermometer - 1 No.
• Stain less steel beaker - 1 No. • Glass /metal stirring rods - 1 No.
• Soda ash - as reqd. Materials
• Acetic acid - as reqd. • Wool yarn hanks - as reqd.
• Washing and soaping agent - as reqd.
PROCEDURE
TASK 1: Scouring on wool yarn
1 Take a wool yarn hank and soak it with water. 6 Put the wool yarn hank in the soda ash and detergent
